Jesse Vermont-Taylor
President
Jesse has been involved in politics for many years. He studied Government & Politics at Puget Sound and is currently working at the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the San Rafael Rotary Club and is particularly interested in reaching out to the youth and raising political awareness.
Scout Polizzotti
Vice President of Membership

Scout is a senior at Marin Catholic High School and plans to study political science in college next year. She has been an MCYD member since March 2015 and the Vice President of Membership since August 2015. She has brought many new members to the club, spearheaded voter registration, and educated young voters.
Laurel Druke
Recording Secretary
Laurel has been a member of MCYD since 2011, and this is her second year being recording secretary.
The social issues she is passionate about include: improving education, expanding affordable housing, and rehabilitating the homeless. She is the International Student Adviser at ELS Language Centers at Dominican University of CA in San Rafael (her alma mater) She is also currently earning her Masters in Public Administration at the University of San Francisco. For fun, she enjoys painting, traveling, and catching up with friends.
Leela Najafi
Corresponding Secretary
Leela Najafi joined MCYD in April of 2015 and has been an active participant since. She has coordinated multiple socials, worked voter registration drives, and continues to run MCYD social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). She has interned for Assemblyman Levine and plans on furthering her interest in politics next year in college. She is particularly passionate about foreign diplomacy and plans to study International Relations next year in Washington, D.C.. In her spare time, you can find her exploring the hidden treasures of Marin County and working as a hostess at local Italian restaurant.
Luke Heslip
Political Director
Luke Heslip,19, is a progressive Democrat with heavy interest in environmental and social issues. He studies political science and journalism at Santa Rosa Junior College where he was Co-Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper, The Oak Leaf. In his year at the campus publication, Heslip reported on a myriad of subjects including student government, national politics and crime.
Heslip plans to participate in the 2016 election cycle and help influence local and higher scale nominating contests and elections.
Donald Marsh III
Treasurer
Donald was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He studied Business Administration at Point Park University and works at Berkshire Hathaway Homestate companies. He has been Treasurer since August 2015 and has done a fantastic job.
